Prior to going with the final HOK Sport plan for Great American Ball Park, several other plans were considered. Some designs had traditional red brick facades with green steel and green seats. (As opposed to red seats and white steel in the final form.) Others had the Bengals refurbishing Cinergy Field with the ballpark built on the Paul Brown Stadium site.
