The New Orleans Superdome was originally constructed with the possibility of hosting baseball in addition to football. While New Orleans was never able to get a team to relocate there, they did come close to getting the A's in 1979 and Pirates in 1981. Though it never served as a home park for MLB, several pre-season exhibition games were held there in the 80's and 90's.
